It’s always nice to hear about plucky characters all over the world who like nothing more than putting scrap steel back to good use in any way possible. After all, it’s one thing to send scrap cars and the like away for processing and recycling, but technically it’s better if their parts and materials can be given a second life without having to be processed in any big industrial way.
Not that we’re against the way we do things of course, but still…innovation is always nice to see!
The latest example came at the Dogwood Arts Festival, where a bunch of students from the University of Tennessee paraded an array of masterpieces they’d been working on for months – all of which were created using scrap steel. For the purposes of the project, a few tons of the stuff were donated to the university by a big-name scrap steel merchant, which was then passed to the students who were able to do anything they wanted with it. Suffice to say, the results were quite spectacular and blew the crowds away at the festival itself, once again proving that if you put your mind to and are willing to make the effort, there’s a second life for pretty much everything already in circulation.
