Here at Take My Scrap Car, there’s nothing we like to see more than an everyday member of the public who clearly cares as much about responsible scrapping and recycling as we do. It’s no secret that this still represents a pretty glaring minority even today, as far too many continue to assume that essential recycling is to a large extent somebody else’s responsibility. Nevertheless, there will always be those who fly the flag for common sense, proactivity and the greater good, and these individuals should be celebrated and rewarded.

Well, most of them…!

It’s all well and good to have the best intentions when it comes to scrapping and recycling, but there’s also a line that has to be drawn when it comes to sheer lunacy. You can probably work out from the image here exactly which side of the fence this guy fell on, having decided that the time had come to cart off a pretty gigantic load of scrap metal products, and for some reason decided he had to do it all once. It’s really not far off an entire home’s contents and just for the record, the answer is yes…he really did top it off with the kitchen sink!       how-not-to-take-your-scrap-metal-to-a-new-home

Unsurprisingly, the 43 year-old man caught the attention of the local police and was summarily pulled over to answer a few questions about what the hell he was thinking about. Needless to say, the police immediately identified the fact that his massively overloaded trailer was an accident waiting to happen and would have caused a rather unthinkable incident on the roads sooner or later. But as if all that wasn’t enough, they also found while inspecting the trailer that the car being used to pull it along the roads also had no business being on the roads…it was beyond its last legs.

So while he may have set out to do the right thing, or so he thought, the hapless motorist ended up instead with an $800 fine and a pretty stern slap on the wrist.
