Not only should the service offered be complete and convenient, it should also be 100% cost-free. In far too many instances, car scrapping and recycling companies attach all manner of hidden fees and charges to the services they provide. They claim to accept cars free of charge or even pay for them, but only if you are able to deliver them in person. If not, they will happily come and take your vehicle away – entirely at your expense. Take it from us when we say that you are being taken for a ride if this is the case – our advice being not to bother.

3. Fair Payment 

There’s only one payment you should accept for your scrap car – that being the very best offer, in accordance with scrap values at the time. If the service provider isn’t willing to guarantee the best price paid, why would you accept it?  Some service providers pull the weirdest figures out of thin air, knowing that their customers will accept them blindly without so much as a second thought.  Feel free to do so, but you are effectively selling yourself short and denying yourself a better payment in the process.

4. Total Transparency 

Last but not least, any responsible scrapping and recycling service should operate with total transparency. That being, they should be willing, able and happy to explain everything that happens to your car, once it has been taken away. What’s more, all necessary paperwork will be required to ensure that the company’s official legal obligations are met. Should you suspect for any minute that the scrapping service is not playing by the rules, it’s in your best interests to head elsewhere. After all, the last thing you want is for you yourself to end up in trouble, having put your trust in the wrong scrapping service.
