On the surface, logic would tell you that scrapping and recycling a motorbike should be easier than disposing of an old car. In reality, this simply isn’t the case at all.

End-of-life motorcycles need to be scrapped and recycled just as responsibly and efficiency as cars. Nevertheless, the actual process of scrapping a motorbike isn’t necessarily as straightforward.

Not only are the rules and regulations surrounding motorcycle recycling different, but the logistics of the scrapping and recycling process are also quite complex.

Precisely why a fair few car scrapping and recycling specialists you’ll come across are not willing to accept motorcycles.

Let Take My Scrap Car Take Your Motorbike

Here at Take My Scrap Car, we’re more than happy to take just about anything that qualifies as a vehicle. Irrespective of brand, model, age and condition, we’re all about the scrap value in vehicles of all shapes and sizes.

More importantly, you won’t have to worry about transporting your end-of-life motorcycle to us. As always, we’ll be happy to pay you a visit, take your old motorbike off your hands and ensure it is responsibly disposed of.

You won’t be charged a penny for any of the services we provide, we’ll lend you a hand with the DVLA paperwork and we will ensure you get a fair price for your bike, based on scrap values on the day.

Scrapping an old motorcycle can be tricky, but couldn’t be easier when working with Take My Scrap Car.

Alternatives to Scrapping Your Motorcycle

Of course, there are alternative options to explore if scrapping and recycling isn’t your first choice. If you’re 100% convinced that there’s still life in your motorbike yet, you could always try selling it. Though it can be a somewhat drawn out and frustrating process, given the sheer size of the market for used motorbikes and how difficult it is to buy or sell anything privately right now.

If you know your way around both a motorbike and a toolbox, you could also think about stripping down your motorcycle and selling its components.  Chances are, there are plenty of bits and pieces in the mix that are still working and could have some value left in them. The downside in this instance being that however many components you sell, you’re probably still going to be left with a whole bunch of parts (and probably the bike’s primary chassis) which you’ll still need to get rid of.

Still, feel free to give it a try, if you think you could get more for your bike this way than by scrapping and recycling it!
