At Take My Scrap Car, we’re often quizzed on how the whole process works when we pay customers for scrap vehicles. After all, if a car is destined for nowhere other than the scrap yard, how is it still considered a valuable asset?

The answer – it’s all about the scrap value of the components.

This is the reason why we’re willing and able to accept just about any vehicle in any condition whatsoever. The materials and components in a car that can be recycled all have value in them, as they can be processed and put back into the system.

So basically, we take scrap cars, process them and hand them over to the recycling specialists, effectively ‘sharing’ the price paid for their materials and components with our customers. Our quotes are always based on scrap values on the day itself, meaning we’re able to guarantee an unbeatable deal.

How Does the Payment Process Work?

Right up until we collect your car, you’re under no obligation whatsoever to go ahead. This means that if you’re still curious about how the whole thing works, you can organise a quotation and take all the time you like to think about it.

Just get in touch and we will let you know approximately how much your scrap vehicle is worth.

If you decide to go ahead, we’ll collect your vehicle at a predetermined time and date to suit your schedule. On the same day, the price we quoted for your scrap vehicle will be transferred directly into your account. And as we do not charge a penny for any of the services we provide, you’ll get 100% of the payment quoted – never a penny less.

Your car will be taken away for responsible recycling and you’ll have one less thing to worry about. All with the added bonus of a little extra cash in your account.

Can I Request Cash in Hand?

You can request it, but you won’t get it!

Jokes aside, it’s been illegal for some time now for car scrapping and recycling specialists in England to pay for cars collected with cash. The reason being that when making cash payments, it’s far too easy for dodgy dealers to fail to issue receipts, not bother with certificate of destruction and not declare their earnings for tax purposes etc.

Long story short, cash-in-deals allow shady characters to get away with dodgy deals, so it’s no longer a legal option. If you come across a car scrapping and recycling specialist offering cash payment., be careful – they’re not playing by the rules!
