Here at Take My Scrap Car, it never stops to surprise us how many people come our way with a variety of wonderful and weird ideas about the new age car scrapping industry. Naturally, the reason is quite understandable – there is so much conflicting information doing the rounds out there that it is very hard to know what to read into.
So, as we are not in the habit of misleading folk, we decided we would clear up one or two myths just to make sure we are on the same page.
Myth – Modern Car Scrapping Will Leave You Out of Pocket
This used to be totally true and was precisely the reason why most people with old vehicles simply left them to rot on the drive year after year. However this has all changed dramatically as if you come to a decent scrapping provider…like us…it will not cost you a penny. Literally, there is nothing at all we will attach a fee on, so regardless how much effort is needed to get the job done, it will be free of charge to you.
Myth – Car Scrapping Is a Huge Pain in the Bum
Once again, this will all come down to whom you choose to work with, but if you come to Take My Scrap Car, the only effort you will need to make is lifting the phone and giving us a call! Once we know what is what, we will come to you no matter where you are located and take care of everything. Whatever the time and day of the week that is fine – we will be even able to come out on the very same day of the circumstances permit.
Myth – Why Scrap When the Scrapping Service Will Buy Any Car?
That is an easy one – they will not! It is one of those things where it is a bit on the misleading side, although so many providers get away with it. Yes, they will buy any car, but only if you are able to get the vehicle to one of their centres in the first place and then have it pass a variety of rigorous tests. So, if you have a vehicle that no longer has its wheels or most of its bodywork, well…good luck!
Myth – It Is Better to Simply Sell It
If you have an old vehicle that is still in good condition and is completely safe to drive, then of course, selling will make sense. However here we are talking about scrapping cars – as in the kinds of vehicles that have outlived their lives and are either unsafe to drive or wholly unusable. In which case, what are you doing thinking about selling it off to some poor family? You need to ask yourself – why are you getting rid of it? And if it comes down to the way it is no longer reliable or safe enough for you, chances are you should not be trying to pass it on.
