The wild, rugged and unspoilt nature reserve of Scolt Head Island is one of Norfolk’s most important natural treasures. Purchased by the National Trust in 1923, this remote protected area is home to thousands of incredible species of flora and fauna. As recently as 15 years ago, it was estimated that up to 10,000 rabbits called Scolt Head Island their home. From stoats to shrews to the brave deer crossing the marshes to reach the island, Scolt Head Island serves as a welcome sanctuary for some of Norfolk’s most precious inhabitants. While at the same time delivering a strong reminder regarding the importance of working together to keep this corner of the country safe and beautiful.
