Ever wondered where a village like Stratton Strawless gets its name from? It’s actually self-explanatory - the village was previously a heavy producer of timber, but was blighted by poor-quality soil that made it difficult to produce straw. Hence, its name gradually became Stratton Strawless over the generations. Positioned approximately 7 miles from Norwich, Stratton Strawless lies in a predominantly agricultural area with substantial areas of woodland in the vicinity. An excellent place to explore on foot or by bike, leaving the car at home and doing the environment a favour!
